POLARIZED PLUG (120V MODELS ONLY)
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
modify the plug in any way.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
Warning: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw
to prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or
electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no
user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized
service personnel.
ELECTRICAL CORD
1. A short power-supply cord (OR DETACHABLE POWER-SUPPLY CORD) is
to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
2. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
3. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,
a) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
b) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding-type 3-wire cord.
c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified
personnel or in Latin America by an authorized service center.
HOW TO USE
This product is for household use only.
GETTING STARTED
• Wash removable parts as instructed in CARE AND CLEANING.
• Pour fresh cold water up to MAX level mark into the water reservoir.
• Place permanent filter into removable filter basket. Place basket into filter
basket holder.
• Plug cord into standard electrical outlet.
• Brew water through as instructed in BREWING COFFEE, but do not add coffee
grounds or soft pods. When finished, discard the water from the mug.
Note: Once the START switch is pushed, it cannot be turned off. The
unit must run its cycle and you can begin brewing once the LED light is
turned off.
BREWING COFFEE WITH LOOSE GROUND COFFEE
1. Lift cover. Pour cold water up to the MAX fill line in the water reservoir
(unless using the instructions in the following note).
Note: If desired, before placing mug on the mug rest, remove the lid from
the travel mug and add sweetener, cream or milk to the mug before brewing;
replace the lid before placing mug on the mug rest. If using this tip do not fill
reservoir to MAX line; leave space in reservoir to allow for room in mug once
coffee is brewed.
HOW TO USE (CONT)
2. Place the filter basket into the filter basket holder at the top of the
coffeemaker with the handle to the left and the center notch resting
securely at the center back.
3. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket with the handle to the right
until it rests securely in the filter basket.
4. Add ground coffee (approximately 3 tablespoons is recommend). Close the cover.
5. Place thermal travel mug with the lid securely in place on the mug rest
directly under the filter basket opening.
6. Press the START switch; the power indicator light illuminates. The
coffeemaker and power indicator light turn off automatically when brewing
is finished. Allow coffee to finish dripping from the unit before removing
your travel mug.
Note: There will be slightly less coffee in your travel mug than the amount of
water added, as the grounds absorb some of the liquid.
Tip: Your coffeemaker can also be used to brew hot water for other hot
beverages such as tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal and soups. To brew
hot water and avoid coffee flavor, remove the permanent filter and basket and
follow the brewing process (without adding grounds).
Caution: Be careful when opening the cover after brewing as this area
is hot and steamy. Use the lift tab located on the front of the cover.
BREWING COFFEE WITH SOFT PODS
1. Lift cover. Pour filtered cold water up to the MAX fill line in the water
reservoir (unless following Note after step 1 in BREWING COFFEE WITH
LOOSE COFFEE GROUNDS ).
2. Place one soft pod (70 mm) in the filter basket. Place the second soft pod
in the permanent filter; we recommend 2 soft pods for 16 ounces.
3. Place the filled permanent filter and filter basket into the coffee maker as
instructed in steps 2 and 3 in BREWING COFFEE WITH LOOSE COFFEE
GROUNDS. Close the cover.
4. Place the thermal travel mug with the lid securely in place on the mug rest
directly under the filter basket opening.
5. Press the START switch; the power indicator light illuminates. The
coffeemaker and power indicator light turn off automatically when brewing
is finished. Allow the coffee to finish dripping from the unit before removing
your travel mug. Refer to the information below step 5 in BREWING
COFFEE WITH LOOSE COFFEE GROUNDS.
Note: After plugging in the coffeemaker, make sure the red light is off. If red
light is on, leave the unit plugged in and wait for the light to go off. (This allows
the reset process to finalize). Then, press ‘START’ to begin brew cycle.
CARE AND CLEANING
This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified
service personnel.
CLEANING
1. Be sure the coffeemaker is off and cooled. Open the cover, remove the
permanent filter and filter basket (lift straight up) and discard the grounds
or soft pods. Clean as follows: filter basket, permanent filter, thermal
traveler mug and mug lid are all top rack dishwasher-safe; or they may be
hand-washed in warm, soapy water. The coffeemaker’s exterior may be
cleaned with a soft damp cloth.
Important: Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring pads. Never
immerse the coffeemaker in water.
2. To clean inside of cover, open the cover allowing it to rest in the open position.
Pull the showerhead to release from under the tab and wipe the surface with
a clean damp cloth. After cleaning, insert showerhead back in position.
CLEANING WITH VINEGAR
Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog your coffeemaker. Cleaning is
recommended once a month. Excessive steaming or a prolonged brewing
cycle is a sign that a cleaning is needed.
1. Fill the mug about 1/3 full with white vinegar and then to the MAX line cold
water and pour into the water reservoir.
2. Place the mug on the mug rest.
3. Press the START switch and let the cleaning solution brew through until the
unit shuts off automatically.
4. Repeat the process using a new solution; do not reuse the first solution.
5. Use the mug to fill the reservoir with cold water and brew the plain water
through to flush out any remaining solution. You may have to repeat the
plain water cycle to remove any remaining vinegar taste
6. Wash and dry the permanent filter, filter basket, lid and mug as instructed
in CLEANING. LEAN

ENCHUFE POLARIZADO (SOLAMENTE PARA LOS MODELOS DE 120V)
Este aparato cuenta con un enchufe polarizado (un contacto es más ancho
que el otro). A fin de reducir el riesgo de un choque eléctrico, este enchufe
encaja en un tomacorriente polarizada en un solo sentido. Si el enchufe no
entra en le tomacorriente, inviértalo y si aun así no encaja, consulte con un
electricista. Por favor no trate de alterar esta medida de seguridad.
TORNILLO DE SEGURIDAD
Advertencia: Este aparato cuenta con un tornillo de seguridad para
evitar la remoción de la cubierta exterior del mismo. A fin de reducir el
riesgo de incendio o de choque eléctrico, por favor no trate de remover
la cubierta exterior. Este producto no contiene piezas reparables por
el consumidor. Toda reparación se debe llevar a cabo únicamente por
personal de servicio autorizado.
CABLE ELÉCTRICO
1. El producto se debe de proporcionar con un cable eléctrico corto (o uno separable),
a fin de reducir el riesgo de tropezar o de enredarse en un cable más largo.
2. Existen cables eléctricos más largos y separables o cables de extensión
que uno puede utilizar si toma el cuidado debido.
3. Si se utiliza un cable separable o de extensión,
a) El régimen nominal del cable separable o del cable de extensión debe
ser, como mínimo, igual al del régimen nominal del aparato.
b) Si el aparato es de conexión a tierra, el cable de extensión debe ser un
cable de tres alambres de conexión a tierra.
c) Uno debe de acomodar el cable más largo de manera que no cuelgue
del mostrador o de la mesa, para evitar que un niño tire del mismo o que
alguien se tropiece.
Nota: Si el cordón de alimentación es dañado, en América Latina debe
sustituirse por personal calificado o por el centro de servicio autorizado.
COMO USAR
Este product es solamente para uso doméstico.
PRIMEROS PASOS
• Lave las piezas removibles según las instrucciones en la sección de
CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA.
• ViertaaguafríaeneltanquedeaguahastaelnivelqueindicaMAX.
• Coloqueelfiltropermanenteenelcestodelfiltroyluegocoloqueelcestoensu
compartimiento respectivo.
• Enchufeelcableauntomacorrientenormal.
•Cuele agua siguiendo las instrucciones en la sección de COLAR CAFÉ sin agregar
café molido o bolsitas de café. Cuando termine, deseche el agua de la taza
Nota: Una vez pulsado el interruptor de arranque START, no se podrá
apagar el equipo. La unidad deberá realizar todo su ciclo y podrá
comenzar a preparar el café una vez que se haya apagado la luz LED.
PARA COLAR CAFÉ MOLIDO SUELTO
1. Abra la tapa. Vierta agua fria en el tanque de agua (a no ser que use las
instrucciones en la siguiente nota).
Nota:
Si desea, antes de colocar la taza térmica portátil en la base de la
cafetera, retire la tapa de la taza para endulzar, agregar crema o leche en la
taza antes de iniciar el ciclo de colado; cierre la tapa nuevamente. Si usa estas
instrucciones, no llene el tanque de agua hasta la marca MAX. Deje suficiente
espacio en el tanque para que cuele la cantidad adecuada para la taza.
2. Coloque el cesto del filtro en su compartimiento con el asa mirando hacia la
Izquierda y la abertura descansando en la parte de atrás.
3. Coloque el filtro permanente adentro del cesto removible con el asa
mirando hacia la derecha hasta que caiga segura en su lugar.
4. Agregue cafe molido (se recomienda 3 cucharadas). Cierre la tapa.
5. Coloque la taza en el la base de la cafetera, justo debajo de la abertura del
cesto removible para el filtro.
6. Presione el interruptor de funcionamiento. La luz indicadora de encendido
se ilumina. La cafetera y la luz indicadora de encendido se apagan
automáticamente al finalizar el ciclo de colado. Permita que la cafetera
termine de gotear antes de retirar la taza.
Nota:
El café molido absorbe cierta cantidad de líquido y es por ello que el
café colado en la taza resulta un poco menos en comparación a la cantidad
de agua que uno vierte en el tanque.
Consejo:
Uno también puede utilizar esta cafetera para colar agua caliente
para otras bebidas como el té, el chocolate caliente, la avena instantánea
y las sopas. Para colar agua caliente en la taza, coloque el filtro en el cesto
removible del filtro y siga el proceso de colado (sin agregar café molido).
Advertencia
:
Tenga cuidado al abrir la tapa del tanque después del
ciclo de colado ya que dicha sección emite vapor y permanece caliente.
PARA COLAR CAFÉ CON LAS BOLSITAS
1. Abra la tapa. Vierta agua fria en el tanque de agua (a no ser que use las
instrucciones en la nota bajo el paso número 1 de la sección PARA COLAR
CAFÉ MOLIDO SUELTO).
2. Coloque una bolsita de café (70 mm) en el cesto del filtro, luego coloque
otra bolsita en el filtro permanente; se recomienda dos bolsitas de
café para 16 onzas con el asa mirando hacia la Izquierda y el orificio
descansando en la parte de atrás.
3. Coloque el filtro permanente adentro del cesto removible según las
instrucciones en los pasos números 2 y 3 de la sección PARA COLAR
CAFÉ MOLIDO SUELTO. Cierre la tapa.
4. Coloque la taza en la base de la cafetera, justo debajo de la abertura del
cesto removible para el filtro.
5. Presione el interruptor de funcionamiento; la luz indicadora de encendido
se ilumina. La cafetera y la luz indicadora de encendido se apagan
automáticamente al finalizar el ciclo de colado. Permita que la cafetera
termine de gotear antes de retirar la taza.

COMO USAR (CONTINUAR)
Nota: Después de desconectar la cafetera, asegúrese de que la luz roja esté
apagada. Si la luz roja está encendida, deje la unidad conectada y espere a que
la luz roja se apague. (Esto permitirá que finalice el proceso de reinicio).
Después, presione le botón de “START” para comenzar la preparación del café.

LIMPIEZA
1. Asegúese que el aparato esté apagado y de que se haya enfriado. Abra
la tapa, retire el filtro permanente y el cesto del filtro (levante justo hacia
arriba) y deseche el café molido o las bolsitas de café. Lave las piezas de
la siguiente manera: el cesto del filtro, el filtro permanente, la taza y la tapa
de la taza se pueden lavar en la bandeja superior de la maquina lavaplatos
o a mano con jabón y agua tibia. El exterior de la cafetera, se puede limpiar
con un paño suave humedecido.
Importante: No utilice limpiadores ni almohadillas abrasivas.
Nunca sumerja la cafetera en agua.
2. Para limpiar el interior de la tapa del tanque, abra la tapa enteriza,
permitiendo que descanse en posición abierta. Hale el distribuidor de agua
hacia abajo y limpie las superficies con un paño limpio humedecido. Después
de limpiar, enganche el distribuidor de agua nuevamente en su lugar.
LIMPIEZA CON VINAGRE
Los depósitos minerales que provienen del agua dura pueden obstruir
su cafetera. Se recomienda que la limpieza se realice una vez al mes. La
producción excesiva de vapor o la prolongación del ciclo de colado son
indicativas de que la cafetera necesita una limpieza.
1. Llene la taza con aproximadamente 1/3 de vinagre blanco, ahora termine
de llenar la taza con agua fría, y vierta dentro del tanque de agua.
2. Coloque la taza sobre la base de la cafetera.
3. Presione el interruptor de funcionamiento y permita que la cafetera
complete el ciclo de colado hasta apagarse automáticamente.
4. Repita el proceso con una solución nueva; no vuelva a utilizar la misma solución.
5. Utilice la taza para llenar el tanque con agua fresca y cuele solamente agua, a
fin de eliminar la solución de limpieza restante. Si es necesario, repita el ciclo de
colado con agua fresca solamente para eliminar todo sabor a vinagre.
6. Lave y seque el filtro permanente, el cesto del filtro, la tapa y la taza según
las instrucciones de LIMPIEZA.
